I really dig this Feeling in Blue painting by American artist, Kristen Jussila. It’s gouache, which is my favorite paint. It’s also abstract, which I love…and it’s blue. I love the title too. Feeling in blue, not necessarily feeling blue, if you get me.

Sidenote, I love the blue connotation, because to me, blue is a calming and cooling color. So if I’m feeling blue, aren’t I feeling cool and relaxed?

Kristen says I use painting as a form of meditation and retreat from my everyday. My thoughts vanish and my feelings for the painting come through. I have no clear objective when I begin, but the color leads me through to the finished canvas.
