I really dig this Coconut Tree painting by Sri Lankan artist, Aasiri Wickremage. It’s acrylic on canvas. I love the bright, warm colors. It’s also just a relaxing piece to look at. It brings to mind sunny beaches.

It is Inspired by the rural farming in Ceylon. If they have farms like this in Ceylon, I would love to take a trip there to experience them….Thankfully, I can look at this painting to transport me there anytime I want to go.

Aasiri studied architecture. She is a self-taught artist. She really likes to paint landscapes that she bases largely on her memories she associates with the place.
