I really dig this Guinea Fowls painting by Serbian artist, Aleksandar Lukic. I love the composition. I love how the birds shadows outline the back, so it almost looks like there are 8 birds. I love the geometric background.
Guinea Fowls are native to Africa, but the helmeted guinea fowl has since been introduced to the west, sometimes as pets. They are actually pretty good at keeping pests away.
I love how Aleksandar paints them with such personality. It looks like they are really fun birds who are kind of goofy. I actually would love to get one as a pet. [The helmeted guineafowl has been domesticated in North America, Europe, Australia, and the West Indies].
Aleksandar took art in primary school. He went to a medical high school. He then went to college for dentistry. His first art exhibition was at a town library. He does everything from portraits to landscapes, to nudes.
Alekander is in the Saatchi gallery. He lives and works in Serbia. If you dig this as much as I do, here is my link to purchase.
