I really dig this Seven Hundred Degrees painting by U.S, artist, Darren Thompson.This oil on wood and a part of his diners, restaurants and taverns series.
I can totally see the cramped space with all kinds of heat coming from oven and stove. It’s a pretty accurate picture.
He says he wants to emulate Edward Hopper with his subdued colors and loose brushstrokes. In so doing, he creates the mood of an urban setting.
