I really dig this Mr. and Mrs. Clark and Percy painting by David Hockney. This is actually a part of a series where he would paint couples. He started out painting imaginary couples then changed to real life ones. Mr. and Mrs. Clark were friends of David; and Percy was their cat. He would paint them in a familiar environment, usually their homes.

He chose the bedroom for this one because he liked the light. If you look closely, there is an etching from an earlier series in the room.

For reasons unrelated to the painting, the marriage did not last.
