I really dig this Found a Pocket of Joy in the Grass this Afternoon painting by Brooklyn-based artist, Emily Manwaring. She works mostly in collage, but this figurative oil on canvas is fabulous!

I love the title probably most of all. I like the idea of finding pockets of joy anywhere, But I think she really depicts finding it in the grass on a summer day. It is totally sensory. I can feel the sun and the grass and the water from the sprinkler on my tongue.
