I really dig this Perceptions painting. It’s No. 11, in fact. I like marvel at the idea that humans can perceive the same things very differently. What one person sees as tragedy, another could see as blessing. What someone completely takes for granted could mean the world to another. It’s just an interesting concept.
Gina is similarly fascinated by human behavior. What compels us to do the things we do? She says her work is a visual representation of an emotional response to all of the things she experiences on any ordinary day. It comes from a place of resolution, gratitude and ultimately happiness.
There’s no deep social or political commentary to my work, nor am I trying to emulate one of the greats or to match your sofa, it’s simply a series of reactions.
Gina is in the Saatchi gallery, She lives and works in Virginia. If you dig this. as much as I do, here is my link to purchase.
