I really dig this The Man Who Flew Into Space From His Apartment installation by Ilya Kabakov.  It was a 1985 attraction at the Centre Georges in Pompidou, Paris. It tells the story of dreamer who wants so badly to float through outer space that he builds a slingshot to catapult himself through the ceiling of his apartment to make his dream come true.
