I really dig this! Any painting that has to do with a nightmare means that I like it.

Maarten van den Bos is a scientist turned artist. He is fascinated with the ambiguity of the human form and he fell in love with textures. He takes inspiration from his everyday surroundings such as newspaper clippings, observations of nature and through watching films. He is interested in reinventing the possibilities of visual language through his painting and sculpture.

His art is inspired not only by his upbringing in Holland and the urban landscape of London. Van den Bos’s often multifaceted approach to making works and weaving mediums sees an image as a starting point for his works – then lets it set for over a decade, seeing it from a variety of sources and used as a way of creating new images and metaphors, then creates.
