I really dig this Outstanding Sunflower photograph by Mardis Coers. I love sunflowers, for one. But this is so unique. I love the composition. The one lone sunflower standing above all of the others.
I love the coloring of it. The blue sky is so eerie. Like after a storm, or how I would imagine it would look after a spaceship landing, or something.
He says,
While driving through the California countryside, I noticed a field of sunflowers with one sunflower standing “head and shoulders” above the rest. I was impressed that somehow growing in the same field with the same amount of sunshine, fertilizer, and water, it managed to rise above the others.
Mardis is in the Saatchi gallery. He lives and works in California. If you dig this as much as I do, here is my link to purchase.
