I really dig this Clash Painting by Michelle Daisley Moffitt. This is acrylic and watercolor on watercolor paper. It has a “collagey” look to it.
It definitely looks like a clash I’d like to be a part of. The bright colors and geometric shapes really calm me more than disrupt me.
The colors are definitely loud, but they mesh together well. I find the blue to be soothing. It’s an interesting composition. I’m not sure there is any rhyme or reason to the shapes, but it definitely draws me in. I can’t really look away. [I really like the squarish shapes at the bottom]
She does a lot of these abstract pieces that just seem to “work.” She says I have sought to produce bold, outgoing images through my private and internal struggles to come into harmony with myself.
That’s totally it! Couldn’t have said it better myself!
Michelle is in the Saatchi gallery. She lives and works in Omaha, Nebraska. If you dig this as much as I do, here is my link to purchase.
