I really dig this #1 (Original Red) painting by American artist, Owen Scheuerle. This just makes me very happy. I love the thick texture. This is an original piece and he only uses old colors like Vermilion, Cadmium, Ultramarine, and Titanium.

I like the contrast between the old and the new.

I love the tactile nature of the painting. As I look at it, I feel as though I am smearing the paint.
