Stephane Villafane

Really digging this 30.12.2018 painting, by Stephane Villafane. I love that it is an easy chair. it looks like a good napping chair; very comfy after a long day at work. No idea what the title means, but that just makes it more interesting.

“Stephane Villafane trained as an architect and you can tell by the perspective and geometry. He feels that In order to explore and discover new space, it is vital to empty his paintings of a narrative or a subject. He describes his process more of observing things from a distance, which involves working across different media including photos, sketches, and models before he arrives at a painting on a large scale.
A world traveler, Stephane found himself influenced by American literature, particularly the Beat Generation. He says these influences are reflected in his conceptual approach to painting, concerning himself with the emptiness and absence of traveling on a journey.

Stephane is in the Saatchi Gallery. He has studios in Spain, France and the UK. If you dig this as much as I do, here is my link to purchase.
