I really dig this Dreamer painting by US artist, Susan Washington. This is one in a series of small paintings inspired by surfaces in NYC – torn poster billboards, graffiti and train cars but with positive narratives from love to female empowerment. She calls them “Subway Sonnets.”
I love the abstract look of the piece; the colors, the shapes, etc. I love the combination of text.
The piece gets it’s name, presumably, from the John Lennon quote scribbled at the bottom. I choose to look at it not so much politically, but just generally.
Susan is in the Saatchi gallery. She lives and works in Baltimore. If you dig this like I do, here is my special link to purchase
