I really dig this Shoes in the Doorway of the Mosque painting by American artist, Vicky Tesmer. It’s oil on canvas. I love shoes so I was immediately drawn to this painting. This is a little pricier than I typically choose for my featured art, but I REALLY REALLY love this!

I have always had a thing for Arabian shoes. I especially like the ones with the tassels!

Vicky has exhibited all over the world in all sorts of cool places. She says that when she was in Istanbul, she noticed the shoes in the doorway to the Mosque. She says that it’s narrative and symbolism was stronger than any other image I could think of to put into a visual form the Islam faith and its people.
