I really dig this Casa Bunicilor painting by Andrei Voica. It translates to Grandparents’ House in Romanian. I love the luscious texture and the colors are so vivid.

Andrei is Moldovan. This shows a traditional Moldovan or Romanian country house. [He explains that the two cultures are almost identical].

“It reminds me of my own grandparents’ house, where I have spent so many beautiful summer vacations. The houses were usually coloured in bright blue or green, and the roofs were covered with clay tiles or were thatched with water reed.”
