I really dig this!! This one makes me really happy.
Brian McDonald tries to make sense of the world with his art. He says he sees the world as fragmented, anxious, and contradictory. He likes to depict what he calls the “cartoonishness” of society.
By using disparate and often ambiguous imagery, the flow of ideas is disrupted, meaning is subverted, and logic is obfuscated.
If I could just picture petty annoyances as cartoons, I’ll bet I would feel a lot different. I always seemed to find it funny when the criminals would be annoyed by those meddling kids, who seemed to foil everyone’s plans, dubious though they were.
Brian lives and creates in San Francisco.
