I really dig this Stepped on a Spider painting by Anna Weyant. I can totally see it. This is exactly how I would react after stepping on a spider.

Her specialty is painting awkward female moments; burning her finger on a stove, stuffing her bra, falling down a flight of stairs. She is so adept at it. She says it’s because she didn’t have the tools to process these experiences when she was growing up. Hindsight is 20/20, for sure.

She definitely has a dark side, which is accentuated by the golden influence of Dutch masters. It makes an interesting contrast.
