I really dig this Creation collage by US artist, Athena Petra Tasiopoulos. It is a collage with digital art, photography, and paint. She does a lot of these and they are all fabulous, but this one speaks to me today.

It’s actually mixed media on photo rag print. She got her inspiration from found 19th – early 20th century portraiture photography. The digital collage serves as the skeleton of my piece, fleshed out with hand-embellishments: graphite, acrylic, watercolor,

I love it because it so elegantly simple and it reminds me of the Cupie dolls my grandmother used to have.
