I really dig this Jim Morrison painting by NY artist, Christy Powers. It’s gouache on paper. It’s Yupo paper on board. it’s pocketsize, it’s luxurious, just as he would want to be.

I love the texture, I love the composition. and I love the story behind it.

Christy started painting a series of icon paintings during the pandemic as a part of the Artist Support Pledge, of people she says all inspire her.

I am a huge Jim Morrison and the Doors fan. This reminds me of a print I bought of Jim Morrison when I first “discovered” them, so it brings back great memories.
