I really dig this Zadie Smith painting by New York artist, Christy Powers. I love the starkness and simplicity of it. I really had no idea who Zadie Smith was, but I Googled her and she is an English novelist and essayist.

During the pandemic, Christy started creating Icon paintings for the Artist Support Pledge. They are all paintings of people that have inspired her. They are painted on Yupo paper and mounted on board.
