Elizabeth Neel, Belongings, 2016

Elizabeth Neel art

I really dig this Belongings painting by Elizabeth Neel. It looks like someone loaded their belongings on a camel for a long trip.

Not really sure what her meaning for this piece was, but It sort of reminds me that belongings can be cumbersome and to “travel lightly,” as they say. [It also looks like any chair in my home].

Elizabeth is the granddaughter of the famous Alice Neel, who incidentally was featured a few days ago. She is represented by the Mary Boone Gallery.
