I really dig this Walmart Hubcaps, 2017 sculpture by Erick Medel. It is so creative! This is an original piece. It is ceramic and clay on ceramic.

I love that he chose a specific mundane object. Not just Hubcaps, but Walmart Hubcaps. I had originally thought this was a found object sculpture, but I think it’s really cool that he handcrafted each of these.

Erick is in the Saatchi gallery. He lives and works in Providence, Rhode Island.
