I really dig this Untitled painting by Joan Mitchell done in 1948. I am a huge fan of Abstract Expressionism. It is a part of an exhibition that is currently going on at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

I like it because of the prominent coffee pot along with kitchen items…all abstracted, of course.

Joan is an interesting person. Not always easy to get along with, people have said. But when she is in her artistic element, she shows pure genius. She was truly a trailblazer in the early AbEx movement.
