I am really digging this On the Mark drawing by Joanne Donnelly. I love the simplicity of the strokes.

It brings to mind all sorts of ideas like on your mark…, hitting the mark, leaving your mark, missing the mark, etc. In all of those phrases, the mark is important. It’s a high standard.

I’ve heard artists referred to as “mark makers,” which I love.

I love to experiment. Experimentation is the key to unlocking creativity. It takes you to unexpected places and choices unanticipated. Working in various media -often photography, sometimes collage and other times mixed media allows me great freedom and flexibility. Often these mediums are combined in one work.
