I really dig this Lobster drawing by Katie Pfeiffer. It is so happy and surprising!
She says her artistic inspiration comes from her flea market finds, her huge unusual vintage, children’s book collection, dance and burlesque performances, icons, symbols and images from all kinds of religions and her exploration into personal relationships.
She does collage, painting, drawing, print making and fabric design, digital art. While much of her work is pretty, sometimes she likes to make ugly paintings on purpose. These are self therapy paintings that are meant to be ugly and humourous. She is influenced by kitsch, fashion, photography, film, Children’s art, German expressionism, Matisse, Dufy, Nolde, Redon as well as unknown outsider & folk+ art brut artists.
She published her first children’s ebook LULU LOOKS FOR LOVE.
She lives and works in Pennsylvania.
