
I absolutely love this painting Weight, by Owen Normand. It’s oil on wood.
Since I work with coffee, I love anything that has to do with it, especially old-timey things. This particularly reminds me of the coffee pots they had on Little House on the Prairie.
This is part of a series of small scale plein air, alla prima’ paintings [wet paint layered on wet paint] done in Italy and Berlin in the Summer of 2015. He says, Working on such a small scale with these landscapes and still lives enables me to concentrate on the whole image at once and helps to keep the brushstrokes loose.
It comes framed in a heavy, black lacquered beach wood frame.
