I really dig this Claddagh Village painting by Paul Henry. I had never heard of him before. He’s an Irish artist who lived from 1876–1958. So it’s surprising that he didn’t come on my radar until today, when I saw an article about an Ohio couple who found some of his art in some old family storage and just on a chance, had it appraised to see if it was worth anything.
It turned out to be a very good decision, as they are worth about $60,000! I can imagine the conversation prior. “Yeah, you know we should really get rid of these prints. They are just taking up space…”
Claddagh Village wasn’t one of them, but I am just so in love with those clouds! They really speak to me today.
