I really dig this Shoulder Shake painting by US artist, Darren Thompson. It is one in a series of diners, restaurants and taverns. It is such an eye catching composition. I can totally relate to the frazzled waiter. So many things I love about this piece:

I love the sense of movement in this.

I absolutely love the expression on the waiter’s face. It reminds me a little of an Edward Hopper piece.

I LOVE the texture, of course.

He wanted to create the mood of an urban setting with his darker colors. The yellow tones are really nice.
