Sheena Smith: Jungle Girl Designs

Episode 105:  Today I talk with Sheena Smith of Jungle Girl Designs. A line of clothing and merchandise with her original art on it. The line was inspired by her son. She wanted to find a way to explain tough concepts like evolution, global warming, and nutrition to him. She figured the best way was through art. We talk about her brand, her love of teaching and learning.

OShana was honored to jury this exhibition, receiving numerous submissions, resulting in the selection of an eclectic group of 12 local artists. The chosen rooster of artists includes: Amanda Abbott, Chadwick Fowler, Brandon Greer, Andrew Hutchinson, Miguel de Jezus, Johnny Kerr, Heather Kirk, Jon Linton, Michael Mutature, Alex Plasko, George Voellmer and Onna Jeanna Voellmer.

The Real Nitty Gritty

Episode 16 : Today I chat with Nicole Royse, curator at the monOrchid Shade Gallery in Phoenix, Arizona. We talk all about The Real Nitty Gritty exhibition, which ended on March 27, 2016.

The Real Nitty Gritty exhibit originated in 1997. Artist, Pablo Luna was at the helm. He put together a group of talented graffiti artists from around the country. It was such a hit, they have been doing it ever since.

The Real Nitty Gritty exhibit featured  El Mac, Mando Rascon, Pablo Luna, Lalo Cota, and Thomas Breeze Marcus and others.

The monOrchid is an art gallery & event venue in Phoenix, Arizona.
